Cape Cod Mall is the only enclosed mall on the island. It is an interesting source for the top national and regional brands and is hailed as a tourist destination. It has an impressive selection of more than 100 specialty stores and fine dining venues, which are complemented by the only stadium-style cinema megaplex in Cape Cod. The shopper base to the mall trebles during the summer months when there is a huge surge of tourists to the area. It is estimated that in excess of six million visitors travel to the area annually.
The mall’s anchors include Macy’s women’s & accessories store, Macy’s, Marshalls, Sears, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble. It also offers visitors a 12-screen stadium style movie theater, as well as a food court.
It is managed by the Simon Property Group that owns 49.1% of the mall. It currently offers tenants a gross leasing area of 821000 sq ft (76000m²).
This space was acquired after the expansion of the structure during the 1990s. A two-storey, 30000 sq ft (2800m²) Barnes & Noble Bookstore was added during 2000 and a small expansion was done to the former Filene’s department store, expanding it from 80000 sq ft (7400m²) to 100000 sq ft (9300m²). This eventually became Macy’s women’s and accessories store during April 2007.
Anchor tenants: Macy's, Macy's Men's & Home, Sears, Best Buy, Marshalls, Barnes & Noble, Regal Cinema.
