Żabka Polska is the biggest network of convenience stores in Poland. Some Żabka stores are located in the Czech Republic. The Żabka network presently consists of 2800 shops; to meet the changing needs of consumers, they offer carefully selected products of leading brands at attractive prices. Żabka stores offer a limited range of household goods and groceries.
The history of Żabka is not only about stores offering everyday shopping to its customers for over 15 years now; it is also a part of the Polish FMCG market history. The business started in 1998. Żabka stores gained an immediate recognition of consumers. Within 15 years of its presence in the Polish market, the company succeeded in developing an extensive network of modern retail stores and achieved the top position of the convenience-sales format. In 1999 the newly-established Żabka stores offered about 1600 stock items.
In 2009 Żabka Polska launched a new network of convenience, deli-type stores branded Freshmarket. By the end of 2009, there were opened 15 stores with a retail surface of 200m2 each. Further 100 Fresh market stores are to be opened in 2012. Currently, in Poland, there are over 300 stores under the brand Freshmarket. Today there are more than 2,400 stores across Poland.
