City Square is the Singapore’s First Eco-Mall to be integrated with a 49,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) urban park named City Green, designed to provide a learning experience about ecology and the natural environment. Our strategies were designed to meet the objective of achieving 1 million visitors in 2 months. We counted footfall to judge the effectiveness of this campaign. The results indicated overwhelming success of the strategy. City Square Mall far exceeded its target, achieving an impressive total of 1.8 million visitors (tracked from City Square Mall’s traffic counter).

Located at the junction of Serangoon and Kitchener Road, City Square Mall offers more than 40,000 m2 of exciting retail space with direct underground access to Farrer Park MRT station. Bathed in natural light, the five-storey atrium culminates in a nine-storey high annex tower, housing tenants such as fitness centres, spas and education centres. An adjacent park was integrated, and transformed into a series of eco-spaces that teach sustainability and conservation. Equipped with solar and water harvesting tools, the park’s Eco-roof contributes to the mall’s reduced CO2 emissions of about 5,720 tonnes annually. A skylight also enhances the interior ambience by bringing in natural lighting.
