Shoppers can expect an inviting new atmosphere, with top retailers ready to entice them, free Wi-Fi, stunning planter, comfortable seating and modern lighting to complete the deal.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is preparing for its store opening around November 1, at the same time as the 50th anniversary celebration of the mall.  Other new retailers due to open stores within the next three to five weeks as part of the first phase of the renovation project include Shoe Carnival and Lane Bryant, a plus-size women’s store selling trendy clothing.
As new stores are preparing to move in, there are a few who have decided to leave.  Longhorn Steakhouse has already gone and the others include American Eagle, Lady’s Footlocker, Ice and New York & Company.
Phase 2 of the project will include a 10000ft² ULTA cosmetics store, which is expected to open during May or June.  Champs, the shoe and athletic apparel retailer, will be relocated temporarily while it waits for the expansion of its store to 5500ft².
The mall exterior and parking area is also due to get a facelift, with new entrances, new lights and landscaping.  The iconic mall sign has been given a new look which reflects its new retail offerings and atmosphere.
Macomb Mall is an enclosed shopping center measuring 901319ft² and is located on Gratiot at Masonic Boulevard.  The center was bought during May 2013, and is owned and managed by Lormax Stern Development Company.  The mall features in excess of 50 inline restaurants and stores, with major names, such as Old Navy, Sears, Party City, Babies R Us and Kohl’s.
