MyZeil, located on the Zeil, in the inner city of Frankfurt, is part of PalaisQuartier. PalaisQuartier is new building complex in the Innenstadt district of Frankfurt, comprising the shopping centre MyZeil, the NEXTOWER office block, Hotel Jumeirah and the Thurn und Taxis Palais. A key element of this PalaisQuartier is the MyZeil shopping centre.
The multi-brand centre MyZeil in the heart of Frankfurt am Main is one of the largest shopping and leisure centers in Germany, and one of the most modern shopping centers in Europe. MyZeil became a modern landmark, which nationally and internationally attracts attention for Frankfurt with a positive impact on day and overnight tourism.
With a diverse mix of high-quality shopping, fitness and recreational facilities, and a multitude of dining options, MyZeil creates an atmosphere which attracts potential customers, and thus helps strengthen downtown Frankfurt as a centre of retail. It also has an interesting mix of national and international chain stores. Anchor tenants such as Hollister (1st location in Germany), Bershka, Anson’s, The Sting, KULT and Saturn.
MyZeil shopping center is located in the Frankfurt am Main city center at the intersection of the Zeil and Große Eschenheimer Straße.
Within one minute distance, is “Hauptwache”. A key transit point for interurban trains (S), S1 to S9, and the metro (U), U1, U2, U3, U6, U7. The main railway station can be reached in 5 minutes and Frankfurt International Airport - 15 minutes.
MyZeil's identifying feature is the structure's unique envelope. The Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas designed a glass structure that is curved and partially rotated along its axis, extending in all directions fr om the 13,000 square metre roof. Fuksas was inspired in his work by a canyon. The glass-metal elements run through the entire building like a river bed, thereby flooding it with daylight.
The impossibly long spiral escalator (45m) inside the mall lends to the attraction. Travelling up the escalator, as though climbing up into the sky, one is greeted by a number of shops and chic restaurants. On the fifth floor, there is the VIZZ kid’s Club, wh ere the kids can have fun, while parents cool off or utilize the fitness center on the same floor, which also has a swimming pool. An especially nice treat is sitting up on the terrace, at the roof of the building, surveying the city of Frankfurt.
The shopping centre spans an area of approx. 77,000 m² over eight levels, and boasts some unusual architecture.
