Les Galeries de la Capitale is famous for its indoor amusement park, le Mega-Parc, with 20 attractions and rides including a Ferris wheel, roller coasters and a skating rink. Les Galeries de la Capitale also has the largest screen IMAX theatre in Canada. Les Galeries de la Capitale is the second largest mall in the city with 139,354.6 m2 of retail space. It brings 320 million dollars into the provincial capital.
Les Galeries de la Capitale is conveniently located in the Lebourgneuf neighborhood of Les Rivieres borough of Quebec City.
Opened in 1981 in a deserted part of the city the mall was the inspiration of businessman Marcel Adams. Les Galeries de la Capitale was jointly owned by Les Développements Iberville, Marcel Adams’ real estate company, Eaton Properties (the real estate company of Eaton's), and Markborough Properties (the real estate company of the Hudson's Bay Company). Original anchors were Eaton, la Baie, Simons, Jato supermarket and Woolco.
