Washington Crown Center

About this mall

Washington Crown Center (formerly Franklin Mall) is a regional enclosed shopping mall in North Franklin Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Washington and south of Pittsburgh.
The mall is anchored by Sears, Macy’s (formerly Kaufmann’s), Bon-Ton (formerly Troutman’s, then Pomeroy’s), and Gander Mountain (formerly Hills, then Ames) as well as a 14-screen Hollywood Theater and 80 other stores. The Franklin Mall underwent a major renovation in the late 1990s to transform it from a lackluster and dated shopping mall into a more modern and bright mall with new stores, restaurants, and a new name. Even following this renovation, however, the mall has struggled to compete with other Pittsburgh area shopping centers. Furthermore, with the opening of the Tanger Factory Outlet Centers in 2008, the future of this mall remains to be seen. Stores include American Eagle Outfitters, PacSun, Victoria’s Secret, Aéropostale, Finish Line, and Bath & Body Works.
