The Mall at Bay Plaza

About this mall

An expansion project of Bay Plaza Shopping Center, the 780,000 square feet The Mall at Bay Plaza encloses a fashion mall with stores like Macy’s and over 100 specialty stores and food court.

The Mall at Bay Plaza is the first enclosed anchored fashion mall to be opened in the New York City area in almost forty years. Designed by Los Angeles-based architectural firm Altoon & Porter Architects and built by the developer and a New York-based consulting firm, Aurora Contractors.

Anchored by a 160,000 square feet, tri-level Macy’s store and the 150,000-square-foot J. C. Penney, The Mall at Bay Plaza will also host the first A H&M store in the borough. Besides over 100 stores, The Mall at Bay Plaza offers restaurants, a food court, and a health club.

The Mall at Bay Plaza is located at the Hutchinson River Parkway and I-95 is easy to access from two major highways. There is also a 2,400-car parking garage.
Already the city’s largest shopping center at 1,300,000 square feet, The Mall at Bay Plaza will expand to approximately 2,000,000 square feet upon completion in 2014.
Built at a cost of $65M US, The Mall at Bay Plaza will create more than 2,000 construction jobs and 1,700 permanent jobs.
