Patriot Place

About this mall

Patriot Place is an open-air shopping center built around Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Phase 1 opened in the Fall of 2007, which included the construction of a small strip mall containing Bass Pro Shops, Staples, Christmas Tree Shops, Bed Bath and Beyond, an Olive Garden, and Circuit City (now closed, however space is rented to Commonwealth Lacrosse as of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament).
Phase 2 will include a 4-star hotel, and the opening of the stores in the mall portion. This includes a Red Robin and a Hollister Co., among others. The Bass Pro store is the first location in New England. It is also home to one of the first locations for Showcase Cinema’s Cinema de Lux brand, as well as many others opening shortly after.
Bass Pro Shops built their first New England location at the Patriots Place. It includes an animatronic shooting range and overlooks a small swamp that was once part of a larger one that the store was built over with land reclamation. Many events are held there as well.
Cinema de Lux was launched by Showcase Cinemas with a location at the complex. It’s aimed more upmarket with an American-style restaurant and a live music venture known as Showcase Live. This theater has 14 screens.
Patriot Pro Shop is a large store selling various apparel and memorabilia themed to the New England Patriots.
Olive Garden is a restaurant which serves Italian food and wine. Opened in May 2009. Part of Olive Garden’s recent New England expansion.
CBS Scene is a restaurant in the complex featuring mainly American cuisine. Around the complex are many HD televisions showing many games by the Patriots, as well as classic programs once shown on CBS. Every booth in the restaurant is accompanied by a television and can also control the music playing from a small speaker above the table. There is also a terrace overlooking the stadium, and there are plans for a CBS-themed store on the first floor.
Skipjacks is a seafood restaurant offering food from both local and international sources. This is the chain’s 4th restaurant.
Tavolino is an Italian restaurant which opened in April 2009. It mainly serves hand-tossed pizzas.
The Hall at Patriot Place is a small museum displaying the history of the New England Patriots, such as historical wins and losses, famous players and Super Bowl trophies. The Hall is sponsored by Raytheon.
One of the Hall’s numerous displays is the Super Bowl Chopper, originally owned by former Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri.
