The Market Street is famous for a huge number of retailers in the Manchester. However due to increasing the number of retailers around this place, a number of shopping centres have been constructed to cope with the competition. Still it is competing constructively and successfully with other leading retailing shopping centre around the United Kingdom. Its retailing area is around 1,500,000 sq ft (140,000 m2) making a place of more than 240 retailers. More than 100 of them are high street brands, which have made the place highly sought-after. This three-storied shopping mall has seven anchor tenants, such as M&S, Littlewoods and British Home Stores. A diverse level of high quality retail outlets offers contemporary design and budget saving products. It is also a renowned hub for excellent electrical products. Giant electrical goods retailers including Phone4u, Carphonewarehouse and PC world, are successfully dominating the place.

Food lovers can find this place as the seventh heaven. There are variety kinds of fresh foods from this region and the other side of the world such as India, Greece, China, Germany and Jamaica. The vast choice of foods includes fish, meats, vegetables and fruits. Prominent fast food providers are also serving their delicious foods with exotic dressing. This place provides 800 seats to the food enthusiasts allowing their entrance by using an escalator from Market Street and first floor entrance. Household goods, jewelleries and accessories, are the other kinds of products offered by the retailers.  BHS café, BoBo tea, Café Nero, COSTA, Coffee break, EAT, KFC, McDonald’s, Nando’s and PizzaHut are the main featuring retailers of the food court.

An enormous parking space having 1450 spaces for cars allows comfortable arrival and parking for a huge number of visitors. Interestingly while planning during mid-1960s, there was a plan for a bus station. It has been very effective for the travellers from the other side of the city. For faster arrival, visitors can use the railway, as well.

The whole shopping mall is built as an architecturally spectacular showcase using glasses stunningly. Its shiny glass allows the daylight to enter into the mall to enlighten and brighten the pathway. Its wide entrance allows the visitors to face a wonderful circular hall. Wide corridors have gone across the hall keeping the retailers on the both sides. The efficient escalators and spectacular staircases make ways to the visitors. A brilliant footbridge links it to the shop of Marks and Spencer. However, this structure has failed to fancy the architectures. Moreover, the 1996 bombing destroyed its many of important areas, particularly the western part. Extensive repair and reconstruction took place for that reason.

The location of Manchester Arndale shopping centre is at the right of the heart of the city. For that reason, it is frequently termed as the ‘jewel in the city’s retail crown. Even grudge of the terrorists could not stop its irresistible and accumulating importance to the city dwellers. As it is especially designed to provide incredible shopping experience, cinema halls and recreational hub is not available here. However, apparently it has never been an impeding issue for the huge number of prudent visitors.
