Hugo Boss is a German luxury fashion and style house that is named after its founder Hugo Boss. Hugo Boss founded his business in 1924, as a clothing company in Metzingen, a small town south of Stuttgart. The company is still based at this same location after all these years. After his business had gone into bankruptcy, he restarted his corporations and sales began to pick up. Due to his early Nazi party membership, and his financial support of the SS and their uniforms, Boss was considered and “activist” and “supporter and beneficiary of National Socialism”. In 1946 after a court judgment he was stripped of his voting rights and his capacity to run a business, and he was also fined a substantial penalty of 100,000 Deutschmarks. He passed away in 1948, but his company survived.
