Daiso was established by Hirotake Yano in Japan in 1977.  It was launched in December 1977 and headquartered in Higashi, Hiroshima City – Japan. Daiso currently operates over 3500 stores across the world. Daiso is growing at a rate of 20 to 30 stores a month in Japan, which adding to Daiso existing 2500 domestic stores and 500 overseas stores and achieving sales revenue of US$3.8 Billions Dollars last year.
Every Daiso store adheres to the founding principles of the business, ‘affordable, extensive range – excellent quality – best possible prices. 
Founder of the company is  Mr. Hirotake Yano, the President of Daiso Industries Co. Ltd, who is based in Higashi-Hiroshima City in Japan. Yano takes a hands-on approach and involves himself in the development process of the  90,000 product items for its 3500 stores around the world. 


With 3,500 stores worldwide, Daiso is a retail powerhouse and a household name throughout much of Asia. Daiso Industries Co Ltd Singapore Branch is the official subsidiary of the Japanese-owned brand and currently operates 12 stores across Singapore, with much more due to open over the coming years. All products offered in Daiso stores are priced at SGD$2.
