Brookstone’s first catalog was twenty-four pages of black-and-white photos, with detailed, no-nonsense information on features, capabilities, measurements, materials to help the customer make an informed buying decision.
In 1973, Brookstone opened its first retail store in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Customers quickly appeared. Headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire, with Distribution Center and Customer Care Centers in Mexico, Missouri, Brookstone currently operates over 200 retail stores throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Brookstone retail stores are located in premium shopping malls, lifestyle centers, and busy American airports.
Brookstone operates a multifaceted Direct-Marketing business including catalogs, e-mail and affiliate marketing, and a website offering hundreds of products not available in retail and airport stores.
