Retailer Sports Direct has opened a technological five-story flagship store in Manchester. The new outlet differs from other outlets of the chain not only by its scale but also by using innovative design elements and services.
In particular, customers are greeted at the entrance by a 22.5-square-meter LED arch, on which an information line runs. The display uses over 35 million pixels.
A separate installation of AV solution inurface media consists of 29 LCD and 68 LED displays, including the largest in Manchester. The 1950-square-foot area has LEDs installed in the sales area, five interactive tablets, two projectors and interactive booths.
According to the company’s press service, they will measure how high visitors can jump using body proportion recognition technology. the generated image with slow-motion jump playback can be taken with them. The store also has a Hang Tough device to measure how long a customer can hang from the bar.
“Our goal was to create a custom installation that would maximize the power of technology to provide the highest level of customer service and make Sports Direct head and shoulders above every other retailer in town,” commented Josh Bunce, CEO of inurface media.
