Chinese fashion giant Shein plans to open approximately thirty pop-up stores in 2023. The announcement was made as part of opening a new temporary retail space in Cork.

Thus, the retailer will double its strategy of developing physical stores in its operating regions. Earlier was the opening of the new Shein office in Dublin, which will be the company’s headquarters for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Shein stresses that pop-up stores remain important to its business growth strategy worldwide. According to the company’s figures, a temporary store in the Jervis shopping center in Dublin attracted more than 4,000 visitors a day last year. Earlier this year, the retailer launched a pop-up store in Birmingham at the former Karen Millen location.

Shein’s new Dublin office created 30 new jobs. The space joins the company’s strategic regional IT center.

Leonard Lin, head of global government relations for Shein, said: “Ireland’s business-friendly environment and broad access to talent make it a great hub for companies, including Shein, to manage and grow business in the region. “The opening of our Dublin office marks an important milestone in Shein’s growth in EMEA, one of our most important markets. We look forward to contributing to the growth of the local economy and supporting local communities.”
