Rituals Cosmetics has officially launched its first flagship store in Japan, located in Tokyo’s stylish Aoyama district. This marks a major milestone as the brand aims to engage the Japanese market’s refined tastes and deep-rooted appreciation for quality and aesthetics. Blending Dutch and Japanese design The 78-square-meter store captures Rituals’ Dutch origins and Japanese influences. The storefront’s intricate design, adorned with hand-painted Asian flowers and birds, blends Dutch craftsmanship with Japanese elegance. Inspired by the Amsterdam collection, the decor pays homage to a 17th-century Delftware vase from Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum. Inside, customers will find Rituals’ Classic and Private collections, along with the exclusive Amsterdam line and curated gift sets in luxury boxes. Japan completes a “full circle” for the brand “Expanding to Japan is particularly meaningful for us,” stated Raymond Cloosterman, founder and CEO of Rituals. “Japan inspired me from the beginning, and it feels like we’ve come full circle by opening here.” As a part of its strategic push into Asia, Rituals has also established a presence in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and China. With Japan’s booming beauty and personal care sector, this new location in Tokyo brings both opportunity and potential for growth. Partnership with Bluebell Group For its entry into Japan, Rituals partnered with Bluebell Group, a prominent brand operator across Asia. Bluebell Japan will lead the brand’s local operations, using its expertise in the beauty and fragrance industry to expand Rituals’ presence and strengthen its foothold in the Japanese market.
