A new Jordan retail store opened in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, near the Harajuku trade zone and Meiji Dori Street. The 9,200-sq.-foot space is designed as a tribute to basketball culture and the brand’s identity and heritage.
The store features a wide selection of Jordan brand footwear and apparel products for men, women, and children, as well as customizable items in “The Workshop”, including the AJ1 and the Renegade jacket.
The Shibuya store also has a dedicated Snkrs area for app shoppers, a Flight Lounge that offers an in-store space for members to immerse themselves in Jordan Brand history and basketball culture, and a Nike Member innovation center where visitors can test new offerings and experiences. Additionally, the Content Studio allows shoppers to film unboxings and reviews and create content to share through their social handles.
Jordan commissioned local artists to present their work throughout the store to connect with the local culture. The opening of the Shibuya store follows the launch of the Jordan World of Flight store in Milan in December 2022.
Craig Williams, president of Jordan Brand, said that the Tokyo store is another unique expression of basketball culture. By connecting with people worldwide through the values the Jumpman represents, the brand hopes to create even deeper ties with consumers and underline the culture that unites the brand and customers.
