Tysons Corner Center

About this mall

It was one of the original super-regional malls in the US. In 2008, the main anchors in the center were Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor. The 2005 expansion off the previously JC Penney structure included a 16-screen movie theater, Barnes & Noble and Old Navy.

The centre started with five courts – the Umbrella Court, Fashion Court, Fountain Court, Aviary Court and the Clock Court. When the lower level came about, the fashion court stage and the flight cage situated in the aviary court were replaced with fountains, resulting in these areas being called fountain courts in error.

The escalators between Bloomingdale’s second and third floors are the only pieces remaining from the original infrastructure of the mall as it was in 1968.

Anchor tenants:  Macy’s, Sears, JCPenney, Old Navy, Caribbean Cinemas, K-Mart, Toys R’ Us, Forever 21.

Entertainment zone: AMC Theatres, National Geographic Kids Play Area, RMG Mall Media.
