About this mall

The mall was originaly opened on 10 March 2004 and comprises 48.600 sqm of retail space with over 120 specialist shops, restaurants and cafes. The mall is part of the Riem Arcades StadtQuartier ensamble. Alongside the three-storey shopping centre with its own multi-storey car park, the ensemble includes the Novotel Neue Messe München hotel, apartments, a cultural centre and an office building, covering a total of approximately 105,000 sq m. 

The modernisation works of the mall, which started 2014, will changed the overall appearance of RiemArcaden. The mall will be refreshed with a new colour scheme and different materials.  The façades of the rental areas and the mall architecture will be also revamped.

Places to eat include popular chains such as McDonalds, Nordsee (seafood), Vinzensmurr, Subway and the San Francisco Coffee Company as well as restaurants specializing in Italian, Bavarian, Japanese and other Asian foods.

The centre features around 50 outlets covering the worlds of food, fashion, electrical goods and leisure, including retail magnets like C&A, Edeka, H&M, Hugendubel Buchhandlung, K & L Ruppert, Müller Drogerie, Saturn, SinnLeffers, Zara. In addition regular cultural events and happenings provide many highlights and a varied programme for the visitors.

Situated seven kilometres from the centre of Munich, the mall location has excellent transport links to the city centre and surrounding area via a suburban rail line and access to two motorways. The city centre and airport can be reached very quickly either by public transport or by car.

It can be easily reached with Munich public transport by taking the U2 line to Messestadt West. Bus lines 139, 189 and 190 also stop here.

Riem Arcaden results in aninteraction of numerous benefits that, together with all the other facilitieshere, underscore the high quality of life for all of its citizen in the newtrade fair town of Riem. There is a landscaped park in the southern part of the entire unit, which brings the lake in front of the trade fair area into an integrated areafor relaxation and leisure. It has been designed to be very interesting, varied and artistic, with a hill for tobogganing and a lake for bathing. And all thiswith a splendid view of the Alps. 

An uninterrupted alley from east to west separates the entire complex into a northern and a southern compound.
