Kurfürstendamm (KaDeWe) department store is located in Berlin, in the bezirk Charlottenburg, on the famous and large street Kurfürstendamm. KaDeWe or Kaufhaus des Westens, is Europe’s largest  and the most unique department store. 

Founded in 1905 by Adolf Jandorf, designed by Emil Schaudt, the building has changed hands numerous times but its name has retained the popular abbreviation of KaDeWe. In 1996, within the framework of united Germany and the thriving city of Berlin, the KaDeWe was once again, completely renovated and re-opened boasting over 60,000m2 of shopping space, officially making it continental Europe’s largest department store. This latest renovation included the upgrading of the food hall with an additional floor being added purely dedicated to providing visitors with gastro-satisfaction.

With 60.000 square meters, the equivalent of nine football fields, this shopping-paradise offers wide array of products varying from cosmetics to clothing and from music to furniture. Here you will find full of high end shops, wonderful restaurants and bars.
The store is located on Tauentzienstraße, a major shopping street, between Wittenbergplatz and Breitscheidplatz, near the center of the former West Berlin, and close the Kurfürstendamm and Memorial Church. It is technically in the extreme northwest of the neighbourhood of Schöneberg. The mall due its very central location is very well served by the public transport system.

KaDeWe has eight floors, each one focused on a different type of merchandise. The ground floor is all Beauty Accessories. Some of the services offered include beauty salons as well as nail and foot spas. The so-called “Luxury Boulevard” with luxury brans such as Bulgari, Burberry, Cartier, Céline, Chanel, Chopard, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Hermès, Miu Miu, Montblanc, Longchamp, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., Tod’s, Vertu, Wellendorff and Yves Saint Laurent is situated here. The middle floors are devoted to Women’s fashion, Man’s fashion, Shoes, interior and design items, arts, entertainment, electronics, toys, and the  6th and 7th floors are entirely devoted to food. The 6th floor food hall is called “Delicatessen” and is famous for its wide variety of food and beverages.
