HISTORY MUSEUM OF MARSEILLE
Features mall architecture
For spring 2015, 10 new retailers and 3 new mid-sized units will be added to the retail mix of this 4-level center. Its façades, comprised of wide windows, will be embellished with wave structures all along the side of the building, calling to mind the motion of sails billowing in the wind on the nearby sea. Its malls receive natural light through an immense glass cupola, punctuated by rest areas with ultra-modern designer furniture, offering visitors a feeling of fluidity, clarity and calm.
The impressive façade was designed with an eye to levity by the architectural firm Moatti & Rivière. Cut with laser, it exudes a sense of fluidity and softness. Inside, the feeling continues, with entirely repurposed spaces bathed in natural light.
Planning
The bright and airy atrium is organized around two spectacular concourses. Customers can stroll to their heart’s desire. As they follow the curves of the architecture and design, they come across unexpected sights, like the waterfall that pours out of the glass roof under the benevolent eye of the Tarot de Marseille figures
