About this mall
The developer of Bowie Town Center, Simon Property Group of Indianapolis, broke ground on the retail section of this 560000sq ft (52000m) project during October 2000.
This project formed part of the improvement mission to Route 50 many years ago. The revamped highway connects Washington DC to Annapolis, Md, and according to Simon Property Group’s Vice President of Regional Development and lead developer of this project, opened up an avenue for development.
Bowie Town Center is the main lifestyle center in Prince George’s County, home of the wealthy. It is easily accessible to the whole of the Washington DC-Annapolis region, due to its proximity to the intersection of US50 and 301, two of the country’s most used highways.
Its place as the area’s main shopping destination is linked to the exciting environment it offers, the good mix in retail stores and the placement of an adjacent Safeway store. The Goddard Space Flight Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Six Flags Theme Park and University of Maryland are situated close by.
Anchor tenants: Macy’s, Sears, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Safeway.
