Mall of America Owners Considering Next Project In Hawaii

Triple Five Group currently owns the Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Canada and the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. Triple Five has also begun to acquire land in Miami to build the American Dream Miami mall.

Cindy Cark, the former executive for Triple Five has been a resident of Maui for over 20 years. She is working with the company to see if it would be plausible to create a mega mall in Maui or Oahu. There are many options on the table, including renovating an existing mall in the area.

Triple Five Worldwide Group is a Canadian and American based company that has completed projects all over the world. Taking on a project in Hawaii would not be unusual. Although this project is still in the preliminary stages, it is foreseeable. Additional research is needed by the company from area residents and businesses to see what they desire in a mall.

Triple Five owns the three largest mall and entertainment complexes in North America. Data shows that these three malls generate over 112 million visitors a year, not including local area residents. This record breaking visitor count exceeds the visitors received each year by Disney World in Florida, Disneyland in California, the Las Vegas strip, and Times Square in New York City.

Triple five just recently closed on a deal in Miami for 82 acres for the location of their newest development American Dream Miami. Altogether, this mall will be located on 225 total acres. While the exact size of the mall has not been stated, it will have over 4 million square feet of space. This will make it the largest mall in America.

The American Dream Miami mall will include retail space, an indoor ski slope, an ice skating rink, and amusement park rides. A submarine ride is slated to be part of the venue as well as a sea lion show and a theater. A condominium tower and hotel will be attached to the mall for convenience. Additional features and opening date have not yet been released by the development company.
