The construction of the mall may be nine months late, but it is close to completion.
The YAS Mall will be placed on a man-made island and will be the second largest center in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). There are predictions that it will attract 20 million annual shoppers to the area which also houses the Ferrari World theme park.

It will include the largest hypermarket in Abu Dhabi, an entertainment zone for families and the largest department store in the region. The mall is to house the largest Middle East and first outside the US, Brooks Brothers clothing store. There are also some British stores included in its tenancy list, such as House of Fraser and the first Hamleys toy store in Abu Dhabi.
Unfortunately, despite the size of the mall, the
Dubai Mall makes it seem small in comparison. The developers are already planning an expansion as it was not possible for them to include all their desired retailers.
Yas Island was opened during 2009 and holds one of the biggest water parks globally, a Formula One track and a theme park dedicated to the world-famous racing car company, Ferrari World.
It offers visitors one of the fastest roller coasters in the world, Formula Rossa which can reach speeds of 149mph in a mere 4.9 seconds. The speed calls for riders to wear safety goggles similar to those worn by racing drivers during a Grand Prix.
