As Bugaboo opens its first US pop-up store in New York City, the Dutch mobility company seeks to assist users in discovering the pleasure of travel through a unique experience in-store.
Bugaboo is a global mobility company based in the Netherlands, offering products that will assist people in moving freely in and exploring the world. Through November 20, the new pop up store will help to advertise the company’s new luggage system, the Bugaboo Boxer. In addition, the store will be promoting their signature stroller line.
The store is unique in that it replicates the journey of a traveler from start to finish. Upon arriving at the store, the customer will be welcomed into their “home” where backing with the Bugaboo Boxer, as well as the ease of the shopping process, are explained with a live demonstration. The next step takes place in a simulated airport entrance, including security features, which is used to demonstrate how easy it is to maneuver with the Bugaboo Boxer. The last step takes place in an “airplane”, where customers are shown and are able to see for themselves that the lightweight Cabin Case is effortless to use.
This new mobility concept is available for hands on testing at the store. The chief design officer at Bugaboo, Max Barenburg, is incredibly excited to bring the Bugaboo culture to the United States market in an engaging and new way. According to Barenburg, “Through the Bugaboo store, our goal is to create unique ways for consumers to experience the Bugaboo Boxer, so they can understand how much easier traveling could and should be.”
Life sized product images and grey oak colors decorate the walls of the store’s 3,250 square foot location. Experts will consistently be on hand to walk guests through the virtual customization course, select the best product for their needs, find the right configuration and purchase their product online. The options available to those interested in purchasing the Bugaboo Boxer include the ability to see fine details, chose from one of the three pre-sets and pay for the luggage system online. The same applies to the Bugaboo stroller.
