Apple is preparing to open its flagship store in India. The new outlet in Mumbai will line up with Apple Stores in New York, Milan and Beijing and will become one of the points of attraction of the metropolis.
The Mumbai store is scheduled to open in April 2023. The 22,000-square-foot store will be a tenant at Reliance Industries’ Jio World Drive mall.
An Apple Store will also open later this year at the Select Citywalk mall in Delhi, a 10,000-square-foot retail space. Company CEO Tim Cook may be present at the opening of one of the stores.
Apple has high hopes for the fast-growing Indian market. During the last fiscal quarter, which ended on Dec. 31, 2022, the company set a revenue record in the country.
“India is a very interesting market for us, and we are paying a lot of attention to it. We opened an online store there in 2020. Soon we will be opening an Apple retail store there. We pay a lot of attention to that market. We’re doing a lot of financing opportunities and trade-ins to make products more affordable and give people more options to buy,” Cook commented.
