What sets this year apart is Amazon’s integration of Alexa to enhance the shopping experience. Customers can receive personalized discount notifications via Alexa 24 hours before the sale starts, specifically for items on their Wish List, Shopping Cart, or Save for Later lists. With a simple “Alexa, buy this for me” command, shoppers can conveniently make their purchases.

This extended promotional period follows a highly successful holiday sale last month as Amazon continues to ramp up its offerings leading up to Black Friday. The Prime Big Deal Days sale in October resulted in the sale of “hundreds of millions of items.” Although specific sales figures weren’t disclosed, Amazon shared that Prime members ordered over 150 million items from independent sellers on its platform, underscoring the event’s immense popularity. The company proudly referred to it as their “most successful October holiday launch ever,” Prime members collectively saved over $1 billion during the promotion.

As for Amazon’s financial performance, its Q3 earnings report revealed a robust picture. Online sales grew by 7.1%, amounting to $57.3 billion, while sales in physical stores also saw a 5.6% increase, reaching $5 billion. Furthermore, merchandise sales surged by 6.5% year-over-year, totaling $63.2 billion, highlighting Amazon’s continued dominance in the retail landscape. With the upcoming pre-Black Friday sales and Black Friday itself, Amazon is well-positioned to maintain its momentum throughout the holiday season.
