The official opening of the shopping park is slated for 6 November, 2015 by MP representing Leeds West, Rachel Reeves.
According to Rachel Reeves, the shopping park is a “fantastic addition” to the number of high-level developments going on across Kirkstall. Furthermore, she contends that the center will “provide more jobs for local people” even after construction is over.
The vision with the Kirkstall Bridge is to make it “a high retail destination” according to property director at LondonMetric Property, Mark Sterling. To meet this goal, the firm looks to assemble a “great mix of retail partners who are new to the area” to bring in their wealth of experience and top-quality service delivery.
A clock tower studs the Kirkstall Bridge at its very heart and is inspired by the profound industrial history of the area. It reflects the textile fulling and blanket making that occurred nearby in its descriptive image of a woolen spool.
Currently, 14 retailers have set out opening dates, and more are expected to follow in a short while. Many retail brands will be opening for business this month; with Pets at Home and Card Factory on the 6th, Lloyds Pharmacy on the 9th, Trespass on the 13th, and a PureGym fitness center on the 26th.
More openings are slated to continue in the New Year, with toy retail brand Smyths, and Specsacers leading the chase.
The Kirstall Bridge has provided employment for 200 individuals so far at the LondonMetric Property Development, North-West of Leeds city center, just off the A65 in Kirkstall.
